Are you facing Foreclosure? Wondering about Short Sales

Facing Foreclosure?

You have options.  The biggest option is what is called a "short sale."  This is where the bank will actually agree to accept less than they are owed when you sell your house.  Certain conditions need to be met but you probably wouldn't believe how common this is.

The reason banks will do this is because it is very costly for them to foreclose on you.  They miss months and months of payments, have legal fees and quite often the house will get more damaged/vandalized/destroyed if the owner just leaves and doesn't care.

The biggest reason you would want to sell your home on a "short sale" is because it will be easier to re-build your credit than it would be after having a full-blown foreclosure on your record.  A full-blown foreclosure will hurt your credit score and you will pay more money on things like credit cards and car loans in the future because you will be charged higher interest rates.  You want to avoid Foreclosure and I can help you.  Not all Realtors know how to negotiate a "short sale" but I do and have completed many in the past year.  You want to get started right away because the more payments you miss, the worse your credit will be and the banks could become less negotiable the further you get into the process.

Remax Results and/or David Moe cannot and will not give legal or tax advice and there could be some tax or legal repurcussions from a "short sale."
